Steve Allen - Seven time Emmy winner and Grammy nominee Steven Ray Allen has teamed his classical guitar with the woodwind instruments of the multi-talented Doug Ostgard to produce a 70 minute CD, “Silhouette,” that will be released May 4, 2007 at Baker Street Books in Black Diamond, Washington.
Steve Allen began playing music professionally at age 12, and performed with various groups on and off the road through his teens and 20s, playing all styles of music from rock to classical. He became especially known for his bass playing, and became a house bassist at Jazz Alley in Seattle. He has played with such jazz greats as Tommy Flanigan, Hank Jones, Herb Ellis, Diane Schure and Kenny G. He was bandleader and bassist for “The Almost Live Show” from 1984-89. He earned a degree in Musical Engineering from the University of Washington and has a music production company, AM Music Productions in Fall City, Washington. His reputation as an arranger and conductor has led him to arrange orchestral scores for David Lanz, earning him his first gold record for “Christofori’s Dream.” .Steve Allen
Michael LeFevre - Michael’s talents have earned him the following awards (among many others): first prizes at the Portland International Guitar Festival, North Guitar Festival, and International Guitar Festival in Corfu, Greece. He has performed with the Seattle Opera and the New York Performance Group. Michael is a graduate of Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts. His first solo recording, Chronicle, was released on the Rosewood Recordings label in 2003. Michael LeFevre Michael teaches at the Rosewood Guitar.
Arvey-Francis Duo - Seattle’s Arvey-Francis Guitar Duo (Evelyn Arvey & Mark Francis) is rapidly becoming a favorite in the region. Elizabeth Brown -Elizabeth Brown is head of the Guitar and Lute program at Pacific Lutheran University and is active throughout the Pacific Northwest as a solo and ensemble performer. Known for her musically passionate performances, she has given solo recitals and performed concertos throughout the West Coast from Vancouver to Southern California, and has been a featured soloist for the Seattle Bach Choir, Fresno Pacific University's Musica Pacifica Baroque, the Northwest Chamber Chorus and St. Mark's Cathedral Associates. Robert Vierschilling Robert Vierschilling is one of the region's premiere Suzuki Guitar instructors. Robert earned Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in classical guitar at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland, where he studied with Ray Chester, Julian Gray, and Manuel Barrueco, and has performed in Master Classes for artists such as David Leisner, David Starobin, and Dennis Koster. He completed Suzuki guitar teacher training through unit 6, and is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Robert Vierschilling
Julius Reder Carlson- Julius started lessons with me at age 12 and studied up and through his collegiate years. He is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.A., 2002) and the Universidad de Chile, Santiago (M.A., 2005). His thesis dealt with Chacarera, a genre of Argentine folk music. He spent the 2005-06 academic year as a DAAD scholar in Berlin, Germany, where he conducted research on Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
Vincenzo Johnson- At just 18 years of age, Vinnie has shown exceptional promise as a jazz guitarist. Selected as the All-State, All-Northwest guitarist several years running. In the four years we’ve been working together, I’ve seen Vinnie grow from having great potential to treating audiences with remarkably sophisticated jazz improvisations. Chops galore and unmatched dedication, Vinnie is a guitarist certain to make a mark in the jazz community. Vinnie studies via iChat iSight video lessons. UPDATE: Vinnie is now on full scholarship at NYU . Of the 26 jazz guitarists in the music program, Vinnie is one of only 5 students to be accepted into the John Scofield improvisation class, mostly made up of graduate studtents. As a freshman, that’s quite an accomplishment! When I talked with John Scofield recently, John said to me: “Vinnie is unbelievable ... he’s a world class guitarist!” Vincenzo Johnson

Hilary Field - Hilary Field, classical guitarist, is a 1992 winner of the Northwest Young Artist Series Competition and, in addition to having been the head of the Guitar department at Pacific Lutheran University, has recently joined the music faculty of Seattle Pacific University. She has appeared on television and radio throughout the United States ... Derrick Robinson - Derrick recently graduated from Western Washington with a degree in music. Post graduation, he held a teaching assistant position in the guitar department. Derrick has placed among the top five in several classical guitar competitions in the Northwest.
